Safely Interact with Authority


Our presenters are members of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement.  NOBLE has been running a mentoring initiative in 4 Brooklyn public schools for over 4 years.   


Lead presenter Dr. Sophine Charles is the Preventative Services Associate with Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies.  She has spent over 18 years working in child welfare, youth and family counseling, parent training and consulting.  In addition she is on the faculty of John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  


At this Breakfast you will learn: 

  • What young people should do when interacting with police
  • What to do when stopped, questioned or detained
  • What to do if arrested
  • How to respond to officer misconduct
  • How to report officer misconduct
